About the LIM curriculum
The study of martial arts is a path of personal growth encompassing the body, mind, and spirit.
The Lessons in Mindfulness program is designed to support and supplement your physical practice, to motivate you, and to inspire you on an even deeper level. When you realize the power of these concepts, you will become a committed and dedicated student for years to come.
Each Lesson in Mindfulness is divided into 3 sections.
It begins with a Topic to inspire and motivate you in your practices. By giving insight into each principle, you will draw a better connection between practice and your everyday live.
Next is an Exercise or activity that will deepen your understanding as well as challenge you to explore your core beliefs. The process helps you discover your own beliefs, rather than persuading or demanding that you follow the paths of others.
Finally, you will learn Techniques of introspection and internalization. You will practice breathing techniques, awareness skills, and methods of intensifying your concentration. You’ll discover the importance of controlling and disciplining the mind, breath, and chi.

Does it involve meditation?
Of course! But it also dives deeper into how any martial arts practice can play a critical role in our everyday lives outside the dojo. There are 24 lessons covering as wide variety of topics.
Must I be practicing martial arts to do Lessons in Mindfulness?
Lessons in Mindfulness is designed as a tool for deepening your existing martial arts practice, not as a standalone course. We strongly recommend getting started in martial arts first.
