About Us
Since 1993, we have taught more than 10,000 students how to bring martial arts practice into their everyday life.
We practice with partners, not opponents. We bow to focus & respect, not worship. We practice hard, not violently. Any student past or present will attest: This is a dojo like no other.

Frequently Asked Questions
Am I welcome in your dojo?
Yes! Practice is for everyone. Our school serves all genders, beliefs, fitness levels, and backgrounds. Come with an open mind ready to learn and you’ll be successful.
How much does it cost?
It’s a monthly tuition to come as often as you like, and we have classes 6 days a week. Come in for a free class to get pricing and a current schedule.
Is this an MMA school?
Absolutely not. Fighting on purpose is a sport, not an art. Our school is as old as the UFC, but holds deeply different beliefs. The battle is within you, not a ring.
When can I fight in my first tournament?
Any time you like, but never as a student in our school. We practice as partners, not opponents, to become true artists, not competitors. However, we have some of the most intense sparring in the country optionally available that safely scales with your ability.
What does “Sifu” mean?
It’s an honorific from Chinese Martial Arts that simply means ‘teacher’ (similar to ‘sensei’ in Japanese). Sifu Brown takes the art of teaching seriously and created a certificate program for it separate from rank.
Can I just drop in?
Yes, feel free to stop by either location (4-8pm Mon-Fri is best) to ask questions and see the dojo. If you’d like to try a free class, please schedule ahead of time. (We don’t mind casual interest, but please don’t come “just to watch” — get in here!)
Uniforms & bowing all the time? Is this a cult?
Not even close. Our school follows some traditions & etiquette of Shaolin to create an environment conducive to learning. One of my favorite Sifu quotes is, “If you put me on a pedestal, I’ll jump off it.” We love martial arts, not any particular belief system.
Seriously, why no prices on the website?
How do you judge the value of a thing you have never experienced? We offer daily instruction by one of the most experienced martial artists & teachers in the world — a truly unique experience. It’s not a trick and there’s no “hard sell” waiting afterward, we promise.
